I'm confused by this statement:

"Historically, CPCs for Yahoo! and Bing traffic combined are about 25% lower than those for Bing alone."

So in other words, Bing's CPCs are typically higher than Yahoo's?

Wendy from Acai Supplement Info

I have been monitoring my adcenter CPC these few days and it seemed that costs have increased a lot more, some of them by 100%! I am not sure if this is due to the alliance with Yahoo. What's your take?

Shay O'Reilly

We have also seen an increase of CPCs of about 10% on the combined Bing and Yahoo traffic. Nothing as drastic as 100% but significant nonetheless. We'll be publishing a full analysis in the next couple days but a key factor is the increased number of participants in the auctions. Smaller accounts that previously were not bidding on AdCenter because the administrative overhead now find it worth their effort since the combined Yahoo and Bing entity accounts for roughly 30% of the market. More participants means higher CPC's! Alas.

Shay O'Reilly

Yes. Bing CPCs are typically higher than Yahoo's which reflects their relatively high conversion rates
