February Google Stats - Strong European Growth

Google continued to grow in February: Efficient Frontier's non-mortgage related same advertiser US search spend on Google increased by 20% in January and 19% in February 2008 versus last year. CTRs continued to improve on Google in February, showing a 15% improvement over last year, and CPCs were up 8% for non-mortgage advertisers. Not surprisingly, Google gained 6 points in share of search spending from February 2007, accounting for 79% of US search spend in February 2008.

The European market, where Google dominates, showed very strong growth in February 2008, with same advertiser spend on Google in the UK up 69% and more than 100% in the rest of Europe. In Q4, Google reported that 48% of its revenues came from outside the United States, with 14% of total revenue from the UK. International data should be increasingly examined for indications of Google's growth as it approaches half of total revenues.
